Label The name "Nakkal" is inspired by the ancient priests of Atlantis, who were believed to have guarded the knowledge and energy of the population.

Story Santi Degásperi and Nico Monforte are two childhood friends who turned years of studies and a shared obsession with wine into Proyecto Nakkal, their natural wine project launched in Uruguay in 2020. Their vineyards sit close to the Río de la Plata, where cool breezes help keep the wines fresh and balanced. The name Nakkal comes from the mythical priests of Atlantis, said to protect knowledge and energy through harmony rather than force - not a bad philosophy for making wine either.

Tech info Fermented in concrete with 5% whole clusters; the rest destemmed and lightly crushed to retain as many whole berries as possible, allowing for partial carbonic maceration. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs once daily. Pressed and racked off skins, then naturally settled and racked according to the lunar cycle. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
