Litrona Albariño
You might think this is a full-bodied white at first, but not at all - the acidity and minerality combine perfectly to make a sharp, thirst-quenching yet elegant day-drinker. We can't put it down.
Grape 100% Albariño
Vintage 2019
Producer Bodegas Albamar
Region Rias Baixas (Spain)
Label This wine is salty and refreshing like the kiss of a mermaid. We don’t know from experience, but it’s how we imagine it would be like.
Story If Sally sells seashells by the sea shore, Xurxo Alba of Albamar makes albariño “al alba del mar”(next to the sea). There’s really not much more to say. It’s what he was born to do. It’s what he knows best. He is the personification of albariño. His cellar is in the Salnés sub region of Rias Baixas located on the northwestern coast of Spain, where the wines are heavily influenced by the Atlantic ocean. His family has been farming and making albariño for generations, but it wasn’t until Xurxo finished his oenological studies that they started bottling and commercializing their own wines more than 20 years ago.
Tech info Hand harvested, whole cluster press into old oak barrels where it undergoes full malolactic fermentation and ages for about 1 year before bottling unfiltered and unfined.
